Meanwhile, the Prisoners Crocheted a Darling Rope Ladder From Their Cells (and Were Never Heard From Again)
I spotted this interesting tidbit (from the Des Moines Register) on Google today. The brief quote says it all:
A Dallas County jailer who was fired late last year for poor performance claimed she and her co-workers played computer games, watched DVDs
and did cross-stitch at work.
I hope the local cross stitch store is offering her a job. That pretty much describes the skill set for working with me, at least.

Just think how many of us would be fired, the bright side is more time to stitch:) Only in Des Moines would you find such an article.
As a frequent visitor to Dallas, TX (I was born there) I hate to tell you that I know of only one cross stitch shop in the area and it is in Plano, TX, a close suburb. I now live in Houston, TX and there are no cross stitch stores in my area. Two have closed . I am stuck with the local craft stores (Michaels, Hobby Lobby) and usually have to order my cross stitch fix on-line. Not good when you run out of something special to finish a project!
